EdStone architect Torsten Bell carves out new job
One of Ed Miliband’s former top advisers is to become director of the Resolution Foundation think tank.
Torsten Bell served as Miliband's director of policy in the last parliament. His new job was revealed on Twitter by Guardian political editor Patrick Wintour, who described Bell as “Labour's best policy brain”.
What Wintour did not say was that Bell is now best-known in Labour circles as the architect of the famous 'Ed Stone' - the 8ft tombstone engraved with Miliband's top six pledges for the 2015 general election.
Thankfully, Ed Balls' former policy chief Karim Palant was on hand.
He noted that Bell was "a rock" who was behind "some of the most heavyweight ideas" of the last five years...
