Alastair Campbell and Nigel Farage lock horns in epic Brexit shouting match
Watch: The pair called each other liars as host Susanna Reid worried it would get physical.
Alastair Campbell and Nigel Farage have laid claim to arguably the most bad-tempered Brexit debate yet after locking horns on Good Morning Britain.
Former Number 10 spin chief Campbell insisted: "The British people in a democracy have expressed their will but they have the right to change their mind."
He also wanted to know when Farage and his fellow Brexiteers would be held accountable for the “pack of lies” they told during the referendum debate.
Farage claimed that pro-Europeans were guilty of "50 years of lies" and that Britain was now getting its "pride back".
To which Campbell retorted: "We’re going to be a laughing stock!"
Once the pair had stopped shouting at each other, host Susanna Reid revealed she had been momentarily worried that they might have actually started brawling on the GMB sofa.
She told co-presenter Piers Morgan: “I thought, is this going to get physical?”
