Labour MPs and lobbyists out in force at FT summer party
As the Labour party seeks to move on from Ed Miliband, its leading lights have been keen to distance themselves from the former leader’s so-called anti-business stance.
So it is only fitting that many of them enjoyed hanging out with lobbyists and FTSE 100 bosses at the FT’s summer party last night.
The bash at the Mondrian London hotel attracted the likes of Andy Burnham, Chuka Umunna, Tristram Hunt, Emma Reynolds and Chris Bryant. And of course Lord Mandelson.
For the Tories, Sajid Javid was among the attendees, as was Sol Campbell, fresh from *that* LBC interview.
Lobbyists sampling the cocktails and canapes included former Tory communications chief Charles Lewington (now running Hanover Communcations), former Blair spinner Tim Allan (boss of Portland) and Insight Consulting Group chief John Lehal.
