Clive Lewis gets theatrical with trigger-happy Commons performance

Watch: The Labour MP pretended to shoot himself while sitting on the front bench.

How should an MP express their deep frustration with what they are hearing in the House of Commons?

While some choose to keep quiet, others prefer to get John Bercow’s back up with a good old fashioned heckle.

And then there is Clive Lewis - aka the Labour MP who was briefly known as a ‘rising star’ before Team Corbyn decided they had had enough of him.

One year ago, the Corbynista member for Norwich South got in trouble after a video emerged of him jokingly telling a Momentum activist to ‘get on your knees bitch’. This week, he was sitting on the front bench when his colleague Anneliese Dodds was interrupted by a Tory MP making an intervention during a debate.  And he responded in a rather unusual and highly theatrical matter.

On social media, some people accused the left-wing Labour MP of mocking suicide. Among those defending him was the right wing journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer.

There’s a first time for everything…
