It's been revealed that Homeland actor David Harewood is the star of Labour's final party election broadcast today.
That's the David Harewood who plays Director of the CIA's Counterterrorism Centre, David Estes.
Harewood just happens to be an old mate of Chuka Umunna's. They even bump into each other at the gym.
In an interview for the current issue of Total Politics, Umunna admitted that he hasn't watched a whole episode of Homeland.
"I’ve watched a bit of it but I haven’t watched a whole episode yet, which I feel really bad about," he says.
"I actually saw David in the gym last week and I said I’ve got to watch. He’s great. He’s a real inspiration, at the top of his game and hasn’t had the recognition that he deserves in my view, but I am thoroughly biased."
While Dominic West from The Wire had a crush on SamCam, David Harewood lifts weights with Chuka.
Oh, the fabulous celebrity of politics... or something like that.
Harewood returns to his homeland of Birmingham (excuse the pun) for the broadcast (below).
