Kezia Dugdale finally wins an election, but still ends up on the losing side

She didn't have much luck as Scottish Labour leader. That's not really changed in the jungle.

Former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale got her controversial stint on reality programme I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here off to a winning start. All her fellow campmates, including former footballer Denis Wise, Boris Johnson's dad and a host of reality non-entities, backed her to become 'jungle Prime Minister'.

But taking part in a gruesome task to actually win that title she was beaten by comedian and radio host Iain Lee meaning half the group missed out on meals and comfy beds for the night. The two newcomers to the programme had to crawl through tunnels filled with fish guts, insects and snakes to find tokens.

Her entry to the jungle bemused Stanley Johnson who asked "Who is she?". Footballer's wife Rebecca Vardy explained: "Someone from the Labour party."

Dugdale defended her decision to guest on the celebrity torture show in a video message to constituents filmed before flying to Australia. She claimed it was a good opportunity to publicise Labour policies and politics. But new Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard broke his silence on the his predecessor's actions today. He said: "I realise it's a very popular programme seen by millions of people. I'm not sure the circumstance in which it presents politicians is the one that I would choose. And I'm not sure it is a good way of getting across the message of socialism on television." However so far he has not moved to sanction Dugdale for leaving Scotland to be on the Ant and Dec hosted show.
