Total Politics

FAQs

We've had lots of questions about Total Politics in the mailbag (or rather inbox) and I thought I'd try to answer some of the more common/interesting ones.

Ben Duckworth

The first issue (July) will be published in the second half of June.

When will your website be fully launched?

We aim to replace this temporary site with a fully functioning site shortly before the  magazine is launched.

The magazine is sent to every elected official in the UK. But if you're not an elected official, then don't worry because we are available on newsstands throughout the UK and via subscription.

How much will it cost to subscribe to Total Politics?

An annual subscription will cost £38.30. Register your interest on the front page and you will receive information via email on how to subscribe. You will be able to order a subscription via this site sometime in May. In the meantime you can order a subscription by phone, using a credit card by calling 020 7654 5567.

How much will the magazine cost in newsagents?

You'll be able to buy a copy for £3.99.

I've heard Lord Ashcroft has funded this magazine. Is Total Politics a Tory mag?

Lord Ashcroft is one of several investors and we're delighted to have him; especially given his keen eye for picking winning business ventures! He owns a minority stake, does not sit on the Board and has no editorial input or influence. This is a commercial investment for him - nothing more, nothing less. Total Politics isn't a Tory publication - there are plenty of them already. It is a politically neutral magazine and our editorial team, with a wide range of political persuasions (including Labour, Conservative, LibDem and Green Party supporters), reflect this. It will cover politics as a lifestyle, the people and the process. Part of the remit of our Advisory Board is to ensure the political neutrality of the magazine.

Where do I send letters to the editor?

How do I apply for an internship?

In principle, yes. We are keen to encourage new writers and new talent. Just send an email outlining your idea and an example of your writing to our editor Sarah MacKinlay. sarah.mackinlay@totalpolitics.com.
