In my third interview with the MPs appearing in Tower Block of Commons, due to be broadcast on Channel 4 tonight at 9.00pm, Mark Oaten MP for Winchester & the Meon Valley shares his experiences of living in a council tower block for eight days with his host residents.

Did you enjoy your experience?

It was a tough but amazing week but there were lots of difficult issues I found including the widespread presence of the British Nationalist Party, poor living conditions and life on benefits.

What shocked you the most?

I was really shocked at the level of tension around the tower block and to see a massive fight take place.

How did you get on with the residents?

The residents were all really great and made me feel welcome and I think we both learnt something quite important which is not to pre-judge each other.

From your experience would you say Broken Britain existed?

Yes, in the sense that I found people who had lost the will to fight the system.
