Ben Duckworth
Editor
Ben has been editor of Total Politics since August 2009. He was political editor when the magazine launched in 2008 and was locked in a Downing Street cupboard after interviewing Gordon Brown for the first issue. A Cumbrian born in Scotland, Ben has interviewed political leaders and politicians from Britain and around the world. He now puts most energy into ensuring Total Politics entertains, informs and covers political life in Britain better than anyone else.
Amber Elliott
Political Editor
Amber is Political Editor for Total Politics. Since joining the title, she has exposed Sir Nicholas Winterton's penchant for first-class travel, sampled pie, mash and liquor with Ken Livingstone, persuaded Ann Widdecombe to sing along to Bucks Fizz and discovered that Ed Balls blubs at Antiques Roadshow. Amber joined the team from Dods where she worked as a lobby correspondent. Previously, she worked for Sky News and, on the other side of the fence, as a press officer in the London Assembly.
Caroline Crampton
Staff Writer
Caroline is a staff writer at Total Politics, contributing features, conducting interviews and leading the charge on the blog. Formerly, she worked at the New Statesman and has freelanced for the New York Times, the Times, and various local papers. Caroline trained at City University in London.
Shane Greer
Chief Executive
Shane Greer is the executive editor of Total Politics magazine, chief executive of Biteback Media and president of Political World Communications, LLC. He appears regularly on television and radio, including Sky News, BBC News, Daily Politics, BBC Breakfast, BBC World Service, Channel 4 News, and BBC Radio. He is a paper reviewer for both Sky News and the BBC and has a weekly review segment on the Stephen Nolan Show on Radio 5. Shane has published two books, the most recent of which, So You Want to be a Politician, is an essential read for first time candidates, sitting politicians, anyone intending to run an effective campaign and anyone interested in the art and science of political campaigning. Shane has a law degree from the University of Liverpool and a masters degree in international law from the University of Glasgow.
Iain Dale - publisher
Iain is best known as one of Britain's leading political bloggers and political commentators and has his own weeknight radio show on LBC. He was part of a team which launched the first political internet television station 18 Doughty Street where he presented several of its shows. He also ran Politico's bookstore and Politico's Publishing and is the author or editor of more than twenty books.
Jeremy Halley - business development director
Jeremy graduated in Politics at Lancaster University. His working life in media sales has included ITV, The Economist and The Independent. He’s also served as a Councillor in the London Borough of Southwark and thus making him the only member of the team ever to be elected (so there Iain!). Interests vary from Norwich City football club to travel, languages (fluent in German and currently learning Swedish). However, in his view, even more important than politics is the Eurovision Song Contest – a recent highlight was being part of the Albanian delegation at the Belgrade contest.
