Grant Shapps welcomes BBC apology over Wikipedia coverage

Grant Shapps has welcomed an apology from the BBC for failing to adequately report the former Tory party chairman’s innocence over alleged tampering of Conservative figures’ Wikipedia pages.

The Tory MP faced widespread mockery after it was claimed Wikipedia had banned an account believed to be "either run by Shapps directly" or by someone "under his clear direction" that made changes to his own page.

David Cameron has sought to put a good light on his fabled EU negotiations by claiming his first formal discussions with fellow leaders got a "very good reception".

The Prime Minister attended an EU summit in Brussels last week, where the main topics on the agenda were the migrant crises across Europe and the Greek debt calamity.

Mhairi Black bags a first in politics from Glasgow University

The SNP’s Mhairi Black became the youngest parliamentarian for nearly 350 years when she spectacularly ousted Labour’s Douglas Alexander at May’s general election.

The 20-year-old's hot streak has shown no sign of cooling, after she secured a first-class honours degree in politics from Glasgow University.

Black told BBC Radio Scotland:

"I'm really delighted, and looking forward to celebrating the day with my parents and the other students."

Sandwiched between some rather fraught talks on the Mediterranean crisis, David Cameron finally formally announced his renegotiation agenda to his EU colleagues.
