According to a new study published in the Daily Telegraph, power can make people feel physically taller.
Professor Jack Goncalo, who led the research at Cornell University in New York, suggested it presented the possibility that world leaders were less able to feel empathy or connect to 'little people' because they felt bigger themselves.
So which of our current party leaders could have the biggest height complex (according to their approximate height order)?
Nick Clegg is the tallest leader, at approx 6ft1in.
David Cameron is roughly 6ft.
And Ed Miliband trails in third at 5ft 11in.
Another study by psychologists found that voters view tall people as better suited for leadership.
For example, in the US, Barack Obama (6ft 1in) beat John McCain (5ft 8ins) in 2008, but Mitt Romney (6ft 2ins) may prove more of a challenger if he were to get the Republican nomination.
Both studies could lead to bad news for Ed Miliband – as the shortest leader of the three main parties.
Then again, it could all be a load of rubbish. Just look at Nicolas Sarkozy (5ft 5in)...
