An unfortunate slip of the thumbs puts the Labour leader in the spotlight again, but for the wrong reasons

Twitter is awash with tributes to TV presenter Bob Holness, who has died today aged 83. Ed Miliband, who has been criticised this week for his absence from the airwaves so far in 2012, broke his silence to tweet his tribute, which read:
Given that Diane Abbott embroiled the Labour Party in a Twitter-rascism row yesterday, Ed's mistake is all the more ironic... The offending tweet has been deleted, but the witty mea culpa is still yet to appear.
