Total Politics is looking for two interns as part of our new three-month internship program which commences on August 31st 2009. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, articulate, have an interest in British politics, a desire to develop a career in journalism, strong interpersonal skills and work well as part of a team.
With the economy as it currently is, Total Politics wants to offer the two successful candidates the opportunity to develop the skills and, most importantly, experience they need to get ahead in the job-market. The internship program will accordingly expose the successful candidates to every aspect of Total Politics’ operations, from editorial to production.
Total Politics’ goal is not to provide the standard intern experience (filing, photocopying and tea-making), but to ensure that each intern leaves with a set of marketable skills and the confidence to succeed in the current market. To that end, each intern will be assigned a special project which will be theirs to develop and deliver over the course of their internship.
The internships will run from August 31st to December 11th. The internships are unpaid, but reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
Applicants should send their CV (no more than one page) and a 200 word outline of why they should get the internship to Shane Greer at email@example.com. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday August 6th.
