JK Rowling speaks out: Jeremy Corbyn is no Albus Dumbledore

After weeks of speculation, the Harry Potter author has moved to set the record straight.

JK Rowling has made an emphatic bid to stamp down on comparisons between Jeremy Corbyn and her heroic headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

The author hit out after mounting evidence of Corbyn supporters seeking to link the two bearded gentlemen.

Earlier in the summer, Rowling responded sharply to one Corbyite who declared on Twitter that “Corbyn is widely seen by my generation as a political Dumbledore”.

The author told them: “I forgot Dumbledore trashed Hogwarts, refused to resign and ran off to the forest to make speeches to angry trolls.”

Today, Rowling was more direct as she told her eight million followers that: “Corbyn. Is. Not. Dumbledore” - and linked to an article which points out he was paid up to £20,000 for appearances on the controversial Iranian state broadcast network Press TV.

The author will be hoping that her direct approach gets through to those Crobyn supporters who did not get the message last time.

They include the Twitter user who recently declared that: “The way that Ministry of Magic tries to oust Dumbledore is really not that different to Labour trying to oust Corbyn lol.”

Meanwhile, BBC Radio Bristol tracked down a supporter of the Labour leader who asserted that “every story has their white-bearded-hero. You've got Gandalf, you've got Dumbledore. I think we've got Jeremy Corbyn”.
